What is Rising Talent Development?

Rising Talent Development is the dedicated coaching group within Horley Lions FC, created to help players reach their full footballing potential through focused, supportive, and positive coaching environments.

The Rising Talent coaches are volunteer coaches from within the club, driven not by financial reward but by the passion and satisfaction that comes from helping young players grow, improve, and develop their love for the game.

For our coaches, the reward comes from seeing players progress, gain confidence, and push their footballing abilities to new levels.

 

Our Foundations

Rising Talent Development was founded by Reagan and Tazz, with the goal of creating a collective group of coaches who work together to improve youth player development within the club. 

Rather than coaching in isolation, our coaches operate as a collaborative unit, sharing ideas, observations, and insights to better understand and develop the players they work with. 

By gathering coaching intelligence and sharing knowledge across the group, Rising Talent Development aims to create a more complete and structured pathway for player improvement.

 

Our Approach to Player Development

At Rising Talent Development, we believe that every player is unique and possesses their own natural strengths and abilities.

Our coaching approach focuses on:

• Identifying a player’s natural abilities first

• Nurturing and strengthening those abilities

• Maximising each player’s potential

• Helping players develop confidence and decision-making on the pitch

A Different Coaching Environment

Our style and ethos are clear: quality coaching through closer player interaction.

Unlike larger group sessions, Rising Talent Development often operates in smaller training groups. This allows coaches to:

• Work closer with each individual player

• Provide more detailed coaching and feedback

• Create a stronger team environment

• Focus on individual improvement alongside team development

This structure allows for more coach-to-player interaction and personal development than traditional large-group coaching sessions.
