Horley Lions Football Club
Volunteer & Coaching Opportunities
At Horley Lions FC, our club is built on the dedication and support of volunteers. As a grassroots, community-focused football club, we rely on parents, coaches, and supporters who generously give their time to help provide young players with a positive and enjoyable football experience.
Whether you have football experience or simply want to help your local community, there are many ways you can get involved with the club.
Why Volunteer With Horley Lions FC?
Volunteering with the club is a great way to:
-
Support young players in your local community
-
Help children develop confidence, teamwork, and life skills
-
Become part of a friendly and supportive club environment
-
Learn new skills and gain coaching experience
-
Give something back to grassroots football
Many of our volunteers are parents of players, but you do not need previous coaching experience to get involved.
Coaching Opportunities
We are always looking for enthusiastic individuals to help with coaching and team management as our club continues to grow.
Coaching roles may include:
-
Team Coaches – leading training sessions and matchdays
-
Assistant Coaches – supporting the main coach during sessions
-
Team Managers – helping with organisation, communication, and matchday coordination
If you are interested in coaching, the club can support you with:
-
FA coaching courses
-
Safeguarding training
-
DBS checks where required
-
Guidance and support from other coaches within the club
Our aim is to create a supportive coaching environment where volunteers can learn and develop alongside the players.
Other Volunteer Roles
Running a grassroots football club involves much more than coaching. We also welcome volunteers who can help in areas such as:

Matchday organisation
-

-
Social media and website updates
-
Fundraising and sponsorship
-
Club events and tournaments
Every contribution, no matter how small, helps the club continue to grow and provide opportunities for young players.
